Community Trail Coalition/February Update

Dear Trail Enthusiast,

Exciting news from the Community Trail Coalition (CTC)! As we forge ahead into February, we’re thrilled to share our latest strides and invite you to be a part of our efforts to elevate Pelham’s outdoor experiences.

Trail Highlights:

  • Trail Assessment: We’ve begun evaluating our trails, starting with Pelham Veteran’s Memorial Park. With a few maintenance tweaks and some added amenities like benches and birdhouses, we’re making our trails even more inviting. Want to help build benches? Reach out!
  • Guided Walks: Join us on May 11th for guided walks through Wolven Conservation Area and Pelham Veteran’s Memorial Park. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for details in March!
  • Discover Geocaching: Ever heard of geocaching? It’s a modern-day treasure hunt using GPS coordinates! We’re planning to hide geocaches along all 22 miles of Pelham’s trails and host an exciting annual event. Interested in joining the adventure? Let us know!

Become a Trail Adopter: Do you love nature and want to give back? Consider becoming a Forestry Committee Trail Adopter! Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a nature enthusiast, there’s a place for you in our community. Reach out to learn more about this rewarding opportunity. The CTC will connect you with the Trail Adopter’s Team Leader.

With nearly 200 members strong, the CTC is dedicated to enhancing Pelham’s trail network for all to enjoy. Let’s make 2024 the year we blaze trails together!
